Independent Safety Assessor
The Digital Systems Program will replace signalling and train control technology with modern intelligent system. The Digital Systems Program consists of three main parts:
Replacement of traditional trackside signalling equipment with ‘in-cab’ train control technology (ETCS Level 2);
Implementing Automatic Train Operation, which provides assistance to driver who remain in control; and
Introduction of a Traffic Management System to manage the overall network.

Independent Safety Assessment
Axess is the Independent Safety Assessor at the System Integration level for the first deployment areas which includes the T4 Cronulla Line between Sutherland to Cronulla and T4 Eastern Suburbs Railway Line between Erskineville to Bondi Junction. Axess is providing Independent Safety Assessor services for Transport Network Assurance Committee Gates 3 to 5.
