Project Description

The Digital Systems Program will implement modern digital signalling and management systems in order to deliver increased capacity and improved performance, cost and safety benefits on the Sydney rail network. The program aims to transform the experience of operators and users of the rail network.

Scope of Engagement

TfNSW appointed Axess Advisory (in conjunction with Altran) as the Independent Safety Assessor for Digital Systems Program Phase 1 of the program lifecycle for Configuration Change Board Gate 1 and 2.

The Independent Safety Assessor team comprised of a diverse core of multi-disciplinary specialists with knowledge in:

• Relevant local and international safety standards

• Software and System Safety

• European Train Control Systems Level 2

• Automatic Train Operations

• In-cab, on-board and trackside signalling systems
